My name is Bailey Clarke, I am a 15 year old boy who aims to make a huge difference in our greater community. The best way for me to do that is to use my skills and passion for the best. I am a pianist, and music composer based in Newcastle. Each year I participate in what's called the Muso drive, Created by my piano teacher Sally Roper. The Muso Drive is a monthly period when I choose to practice my piano for a certain amount of hours in that month (usually April). This year I chose to raise $3000 for Got your Back sista ( http://thesistacode.com/tag/got-your-back-sista/ ), by practicing for 60 hours. My sister Olivia is joining me, singing for 30 hours, meaning that combined we are practicing for 90 hours.

Got your back Sista is a Newcastle based charity that provides support for women leaving their partners that use forms of domestic violence to hurt these women, physicaly and mentaly. Approximately 50% of the population are women, and it is our duty to support these women. Got Your Back Sista provides the essentials for these women to start a new life and declare their independence by giving gifts, such as gift cards, home appliances, gift cards, shelter, councelling, rehabilitation, inspiration, and more.

Got Yor Back Sista hopes to support these women, and I hope to stand with them along the way.

Uplift. Inspire. Love.

Melissa's Story

Two years ago I travelled to Nepal with a documentary team interviewing young girls and women who shared their horrific stories of being sold, kidnapped and sex-trafficked.

Bearing witness to the girls' tales was a harrowing, life-changing experience. I saw both the best and worst of human nature. But unlike those girls, I got to come home to Australia where I have a loving husband and a comfortable life.

The sad truth, however, is that even in this beautiful country of Australia, some  women have their human rights violated when they experience violence at the hands of their partner or ex-partner.

There were 2974 cases of domestic violence reported in the Hunter last year, predominately against women and children.

I created the Got Your Back Sista charity to provide assistance to women and children to begin again after escaping domestic violence. When a when leaves a violent relationship, she often leaves with nothing but the clothes on her back. We provide  furniture, household items, clothing and store vouchers to help those women and children to begin again as they are leaving a refuge and moving to independent living.

Your donations will help those women and children who have escaped domestic violence to start their lives again.
